Ian Jameson

Managing Director

Ian Jameson is the Managing Director and Virtual Sustainability Officer at Shazeal Limited, where the firm serves as an on-call strategic sustainability partner for organisations seeking to embed ESG principles across their operations and governance. His focus is on helping businesses confidently deliver on their sustainability commitments, strengthen resilience in operations and supply chains, enhance Board and executive oversight, and build long-term trust with stakeholders.

Previously, Ian led the establishment of a dedicated ESG and Sustainability function within a major New Zealand corporate, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the organisation’s ESG strategy, advancing environmental performance, and overseeing sustainability reporting and responsible business practices. The position was integral to ensuring the company delivered on its governance, transparency, and sustainability commitments in line with international best practice.

Earlier in his career, Ian supported organisations across sectors to strengthen their sustainability reporting and strategy using leading global frameworks — including the International Integrated Reporting (<IR>) Framework, SASB, GRI, and TCFD. He also contributed to the UNDP-led development of the assurance framework for the SDG Impact Standards and became a certified professional with the Future-Fit Business Benchmark (FFBB), helping organisations apply it as a practical sustainability measurement tool.

Ian’s international experience includes leading the Corporate Reporting Dialogue at the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) — a global initiative focused on improving alignment across reporting frameworks. He also served as Regional Lead for Africa, supporting the growth of integrated reporting across the continent, and spent eight years on the GRI Stakeholder Council, advising on the evolution of sustainability standards.
